An antique Royal Worcester Crown Ware Serving Dish c1900. Crown Ware was produced by Royal Worcester to be sturdy for use in restaurants and hotels for example. This piece has the coat of arms for The Carpenters Company founded in 1466 originally as a medieval trade guild safeguarding carpenters in the City of London. Today the Carpenters Company is involved in charitable activities supporting the craft of woodwork.
The dish is in excellent condition; some ware to the blue, faint discolouration in the glaze and a small hairline in the foot which doesn't go through to the body (see photos).
