A beautiful quality porcelain basket or vase by Lanternier and Breuil of Limoge. Lanternier and Breuil collaborated for only two years between 1885 and 1887 so quite a rare piece. The vase is ivory coloured porcelain with a handle which has gilded lions on each side. It is decorated with a heavily gilded and relief conch shell surrounded by seaweed and other foliage which is also hand painted and gilded. The vase is in excellent undamaged condition. There is wear to the gilding on the lions and a small amount on the edge gilding. There are a couple of light marks on the back. (please see photos). H16cms
